Conan obrien mentalist trick?

Last night conan obrien had a mentalist on and he did a trick with a book and a pillow and he said if you tivoed it you could see clues of how he influenced them to pick the same page. Can anyone explain this? I can't figure it out!

When he flips through the book with the camera on him he pauses on a page for a split second. If you notice the page number "91" is on the bottom right of the page (that was the clue he talks about later on.) So what he does is have it setup up so that he stops the "special page" when Conan says stop. Later when he pulls out the page from the envelope the page number is in the upper right like all the other pages. It's such a small difference in the pages that you don't notice at first. I had to watch it twice before I noticed.

I am not sure either, but I noticed that he tapped his finger on the page when he was showing Conan and Mike. I think he may have had it on 94 and the finger tapping could have made the 4 look like a 1. This is purely a guess though.

unfortunately it was just a standard magic trick. the "mentalism" is just a stage show.



there were two page 91's in the book: the real one that was ripped out and mailed to coco in a pillow and the fake one that was inserted well beyond the halfway point of the book and was made easy to flip to.



there are ~200 pages in the book. the ripped 91 was about mid way. the fake 91 was around page 150, three quarters of the way thru the book.
