Did anyone else see that disturbing domestic violence tape they showed on Oprah the other day?

I was completely shocked when they started showing the footage. One because the guy was stupid enough to film it and two their young son was the one behind the camera and was making comments toward his mother while she was getting beaten up. I hope that man gets what he deserves 18 years before probation isn't enough in my opinion. I know Diane Sawyer did a story on this incident also but unfortunately I missed it. I am so glad that the woman and her children finally got away her husband was a monster.

Yes I saw it. I knew from the day before that it was coming on, so I rushed home from work to see it. It's a horrible thing. I could not believe that he had his kids involved in this mess. But I guess it was like she was saying they had to side with the "power" or else who knows what he would have done to them also. He obviously has issues, serious issues. I mean to carry on for 51 minutes about her asking him if he wanted something to eat. I wish she would have just gotten the strength inside one day to get up off that floor and beat the crap out of him with every object in the house. He's an a**. Then during trial he's flirting with female jurors and what not. He probably got his butt beat as a child, not that it excuses his behavior but really i'm glad they were able to prosecute him for what was it 36 yrs? And thank god her and the kids got out alive. Her supervisor was very understanding, you know most people probably would have lost their jobs behind all the absences. So that was a great help to her too. I can't wait to see the interview on the 24th with the kids. I hope that show helped someone make a move to get out of their abusive relationship before it's too late.

I couldn't help but cringe at what watching that show. I think he taped it because he thought that he could keep her in that mentality which is why he taped it, he probably thought she'd be with him for another 14 years which is why he did that. I also think that he was addicted, getting kind of sexually aroused by doing that. I can tell that Susan was devastated by what her son was doing and I can understand why she let him do it because she didn't want him to brutally beat his kids especially if he would do that to his very own wife. I'm glad she got away from him, too because that was way too much. He should have gotten life because I was even horrified by just watching it.

OMG!!!! I know I wanted so bad to go through that T.V. and absolutely yank that man up by his ears and slap him around for a while. My mom was beaten by my step dad and it has had lasting effects on her physical and mental. I am glad Oprah showed it and I am so glad that lady got out.

I am so proud of that woman for sharing that with us. I hope it inspires women in her situation to be brave and get out. I feel so sorry for her children; what a nightmare for all of them. God Bless her and her children and all women in the same situation.

Domestic violence happens to every 4th woman that you know.

Maybe the show will help a battered woman know that she can get help....and she's not alone.
