She had been saying for awhile leading up to the show that the audience would be full of pregnant women so that wasn't the big surprise. Ellen said she would have something in common with the ladies and she came out in a fake pregnant belly and gave away a bunch of gifts. I think the "something in common" part was that she would be wearing a fake belly. Remember May is sweeps month for TV shows, so I'm not surprised it was a bunch of hype for nothing.

Ellen had a faux pregnancy bump. The entire audience was pregnant, Marica Cross from Desperate Housewives was suprise guest. She just had twins girls in February. The audience rec'vd extremly expenisve gifts.

argh I actually had to watch this because I was trapped in an auto mechanic's waiting room while they worked on my car. Women are weird.
No I do not think I can tell you what the big surprise was. Ellen had a big fake pregnant belly on the whole time, she had lots of pregnant people with her, one of them couldn't come because she had her baby right before the show and they had video of that, they had video of the studio bathroom where more pregnant people were hangning out, she had a couple from oklahoma I think it was come up and call their grandmother to tell her they were in LA with Ellen and she was pregnant, the daughter I mean, then Ellen gave them a washer and dryer. I think I blacked out after that.

the entire audience also got "bugaboo" strollers which retail for like $800.00. But yea, I think the big surprise was that the entire audience were all pregnant.
