Does the Maury Povich show have early intervention specialists or other ECE professionals on staff?

It seems like all they do on this show now is hold babies back stage while parents duke it out in front of the audience. When Maury announces, "You ARE the father," the baby gets handed over into what often looks like a very tumultuous family environment. Does the show have any early childhood professionals there to educate parents, screen the children or offer developmentally appropriate support? I'm concerned that the antics of the show are overshadowing what is best for the young children and their parents.

Maury exploits people with totally screwed up lives for the sake of ratings. Professional support would do little for these people. We're talking about women who may have up to ten candidates as the baby's daddy, the DNA identifies one "sperm donor" sitting there and they both start screaming at each other. The child shouldn't be given to either "parent".

I dont know but the Maury show appears to be rather fake and exagerated, Im sure alot of guests are actors.

I think Maury is one of the ones out there that does.

plus people 'act' on those shows because they get paid to be on. but-they do a very indepth bkg check to make sure that you are telling the truth before they pick you to be on the show.

in order to get on the show-you have to agree to see/talk to the counselors or whoever they think you need to see

sometimes maury will say to a couple "before we get any further i want you to talk to my counselor backstage"



so yeah he has some counselors. i think after the tv drama people have time to really take in what happened.
